On screen this week: 'Black Swan,' 'Tiny Furniture'

"Black Swan" is more horror film than ballet movie. (Niko Tavernise)
Getting ready for Oscars? Studios must be trotting out some of their best films this month. Here's how the Post critics ranked this week's releases: all three releases netted at least three out of four stars.
Black Swan (R)
"Aronofsky makes sure to balance the repulsion with moments of astonishing beauty, especially on stage, when Portman convincingly flits and flutters to Tchaikovsky's familiar strains." -- Ann Hornaday
Tiny Furniture (NR)
"This is a film of modest scope but deceptively big ideas." -- Ann Hornaday
Waste Land (NR)
"The documentary is ultimately an inspiring one about the human capacity for reinvention during dark times." -- Stephanie Merry
