Today in Food: the year in booze and a mean roast beef

Today's Food section front was dominated by casseroles and kombucha, but inside there was the usual treasure trove of going out items.

Jason Wilson took a look back at the year that was in the world of spirits and cocktails.

David Hagedorn followed his passion for brisket to MGM Roast Beef.

Tom Sietsema visited a recently relocated French bistro in Bethesda.

And in his wine column, Dave McIntyre discussed non-Champagne sparkling wines and made suggestions, most of which can be found locally, ready for the big night Friday.
