Tonight's Good Deed: Help wounded vets at the Pug
The next time you find yourself on H Street on a Friday night, you should consider stopping into the Pug. Not just because the staff are cool, the vibe is friendly and it's hard to beat a shot of Irish whiskey chased by a can of Natty Boh, but because the Pug is trying a new promotion: Every Friday night, 10 percent of all sales go to charity. This week's recipient is the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which offers rental cars, apartments, hotel rooms, fishing and golf trips, and sports and concert tickets to injured vets recuperating at Walter Reed and to their visiting families. You'll be doing a good thing, and you get to scarf down a bowl of cheese balls while you do it. How's that for a fun start to the weekend?
