Hot deals for a snowy night

By Fritz Hahn

Will we see a rerun of 2010's Snowmageddedon? Let's hope so. (Nikki Kahn - The Washington Post)

Remember how bars and restaurants offered so many great deals to lure customers during last year's Snowmageddon? This storm is bringing another round of deals, just for tonight:

DC9 is recycling one of its most popular deals from the last big snowfall: Every hour, the bar will measure the amount of snow on the ground. For every inch of precipitation, you get $1 off a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey. Six inches of snow = free whiskey shots all around!

Vinoteca's excellent happy hour -- 20 wines by the glass for $5 each -- will run all night.

Nage's Snow Day Happy Hour runs from 5 to 9 p.m., and includes $2 orders of truffle frites, $3 wines by the glass, $4 draft beers and $5 cocktails, plus half-price items from the bar menu.

In Silver Spring, Jackie's Restaurant is offering two-course meals for $25 and pouring $3 draft beers all night.

And, if the government is closed Thursday, Meridian Pint will open at 10 a.m. with a limited brunch-and-lunch menu and a stunning array of strong beers on draft, including Dogfish Head's Burton Baton and Bell's Batch 10,000. Check out the full draft list on the bar's Facebook page.
