Previously on Click Track: bounce beat, Coachella dream lineup

By David Malitz

XIB got things off to a righteous start at Saturday's DMV Bounce Beat Teen Awards at the D.C. Armory. (Kyle Gustafson/For The Washington Post)

Recent highlights from the Post's pop music blog:

Have you heard of bounce beat? It's what Chris Richards calls "a younger, wilder, goose-bumpier strand of Washington go-go music," and the young genre celebrated itself with an awards show over the weekend. Singer-songwriter Lissie gave a chatty performance at 9:30 Club Sunday night and electronic music mastermind Matthew Dear got retro last week at U Street Music Hall. California mega-festival Coachella sold out in less than a week; David Malitz and Chris Richards sifted through headliners such as Kanye West, the Strokes and Animal Collective and drafted dream lineups. We also weighed in on new albums by U.S. Royalty, Destroyer and the Dirtbombs.
