Teddy... Oh, Teddy

I have to admit that I found Teddy's near-victory Friday night to be anticlimactic.

As the presidents made their way to first base, I noticed that Teddy had cut the corner in right field, but I didn't know that our big-headed presidents actually had rules to follow. At first glance, Teddy won the race, and I was shocked that I was not more excited. Then, quite quickly, the announcer said Teddy was disqualified, and I was relieved. Somehow, the win -- had it actually been a win -- didn't feel nearly as satisfying as I thought it would, or could, be.

After Friday night's disqualification, Teddy was attacked by a giant panther on Saturday and then a banana dressed in a baseball uniform blocked his path on Sunday. I can't help but wonder what is worse: Dragging out the losing streak with silly gags or letting Teddy win?

P.S.: The full-body checking panther attack was funny at first but seemed silly when coupled with the baseball banana on Sunday.

Teddy losing is soooo RFK. They should have let him win the Opening Night race and ended the gag then and there.

Although I think one of Marc Fisher's predictions for 2025 could have been that Teddy still doesn't win a race (or that he gets eaten by the coyotes in the visitors dugout).

the banana (of "Bananas in Pyjamas" fame) was dancing to "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!"

Oh my ... we said we wanted some original things for our ballpark and this is the best they could come up with?

So wait... you are telling me that my not so perfect vision deceived me and it is in fact a banana in pajamas? My apologies for missing that. The stripes, the fact that it was a baseball park, I just assumed.

A banana in pajamas is even worse than a banana in a baseball uniform.
