Beware the Hot Seats

Rachel Gibson

The heart of DC's summer is descending upon us and you might be tempted to wear shorts to the ballgame thinking you'll be more comfortable. A brief word of advice: don't.

Don't even think about wearing shorts unless they reach near your knees. Let's just say 3 hours of bare skin on hot, sticky plastic can lead to discomfort.

Here at Grounds Crew, we suffer so you don't have to. Consider yourself warned.

...or, bring a t-shirt or small towel to place under your legs for the first hour. I use the red Nats towel from Opening Weekend, and it works like a charm.

This blog is a little late, though: I've been wearing shorts to Sunday games (our seats are in the shade for night games) for over a month now. :)

I wouldn't reccommend shorts in a sunny seat.

The guys from the I Miss RFK Blog site will probably link to your post about the hot seats. I'm sure they will maintain the seats at RFK were better :O). They are good guys though.

No shorts in the ballpark? Perish the thought!

Just curious why your seat is sticky?!? I've been to many games this season and can honestly say that no matter how hot or cold it's been, my seat was never sticky! Perhaps you should bring some wet wipes too! And on a happier note, YAY!!!! WE BEAT THE ORIOLES!!!!!!!
