The Marching Virginians' Special Performance

Away from the bright lights of the Georgia Dome this weekend, the Virginia Tech Marching Virginians will put on a special performance.

On Friday, the band, the Hokies’ cheerleaders and the HokieBird mascot will give a halftime performance at Lakeside High School in Atlanta. One of the 32 victims of the April 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech, Ryan Clark, attended the high school, was a member of its band and was also a member of the Marching Virginians.

Those headed to Atlanta who would like details can contact Greg Fansler of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association at

The No. 7 Hokies take on No. 5 Alabama on Saturday in the Georgia Dome.
