Thursday Links
I've got a few stories to write, but I'm hoping to have more blog entries up here later on. Until then, enjoy these links.
Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has a midseason report on Georgia Tech. What's gone right? The Yellow Jackets' rushing offense. What's gone wrong? Their pass defense.
Also, as Roberson points out, Georgia Tech leads the ACC in nine team categories: rushing offense, total offense, passing efficiency, punt return average (26.7), sacks against (four), third-down conversions (52.4 percent), fourth-down conversions (75 percent), time of possession (32:55) and turnover margin (plus-5).
Here is a transcript of Coach Paul Johnson's weekly news conference.
The true measure of Georgia Tech's spread option? Check the team's punting statistics.
I'm writing a story for Saturday's newspaper about Virginia Tech running back Ryan Williams. He has outshone Georgia Tech's Jonathan Dwyer this year as the conference's top running back. While Dwyer has not matched his productivity from last season, when he was the ACC player of the year, here is a little reminder of just how good he can be.
