It's Tuesday, so that means a full slate of news conferences. In addition to Coach Frank Beamer in his usual spot, quarterback Tyrod Taylor, defensive tackle John Graves, guard Sergio Render and linebacker Jake Johnson are scheduled to join.
The No. 4 Hokies' meeting with No. 19 Georgia Tech is important, but not just for fans in Blacksburg. Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal Constitution writes that the matchup is "the Yellow Jackets’ biggest conference game since at least 1998 (against then-No. 6 Florida State — a loss) and maybe since the national championship season of 1990 (against then-No. 1 Virginia — a win)."
While the stakes are high,Georgia Tech has momentum as it comes off of a 49-44 win last Saturday over Florida State. In fact, as his team prepares for Virginia Tech, quarterback Josh Nesbitt said, "We're going in thinking we're the best team in the nation."
A bold statement, but there's something to be said for confidence. If Nesbitt is correct, Virginia Tech fans might end up as upset as the dude in this hilarious video, from the Yellow Jackets' 30-27 win over Clemson on Sept. 10.
