Friday links
Happy Friday. Happy links.
Maryland quarterback Chris Turner, who injured his left knee last Saturday, was listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against Virginia Tech, and every indication is that backup Jamarr Robinson will make his first career start. As my colleague Eric Prisbell writes, considerable intrigue remains about quarterback because Coach Ralph Friedgen has not ruled out playing two freshmen who otherwise would redshirt. Those players are Danny O'Brien and C.J. Brown.
Here is a detailed look at some of Saturday's quarterback candidates. Who's your pick?
Friedgen recently said that Maryland could be 7-1 or 6-2. Heather Dinich of ESPN.com writes that several struggling Atlantic Coast Conference teams are better than their records indicate. Among them, of course, is Maryland. Dinich notes that the Terrapins played 24 freshmen (10 true, 14 redshirts) this year, the most ever during Friedgen’s nine-year tenure.
