Monday links

It's Virginia week. Here are your Monday links.

Before we really get into the Cavaliers, let's take a brief look back at Virginia Tech's 38-10 win Saturday over North Carolina State and where the Hokies sit with only one Saturday to play on their 2009 schedule.

Aaron McFarling of the Roanoke Times spotlighted the connection between quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jarrett Boykin. Over the season, the pair have developed a nice chemistry. And it has resulted in 715 yards receiving this season for Boykin. At Virginia Tech, McFarling writes, "that's rarer than a healthy meal at Hardee's." Only eight players in Virginia Tech history have eclipsed 700 yards receiving, none since Ernest Wilford in 2003.

Heather Dinich of ESPN.com has her updated bowl projections. As she has predicted in past installments of these predictions, Dinich thinks Clemson will upset Georgia Tech in the ACC title game. Check out her projections to see where that leaves the Hokies.

Or if you want a brief trip to fantasy land, check out SI.com's mythical division I-A football playoff bracket. I don't like the 14th-seeded Hokies' chances against the third-seeded Florida Gators. (Based on this bracket, my national title prediction would be Alabama over Texas Christian.)
