Tuesday links
Tuesday means a full slate of Virginia Tech football news conferences at Lane Stadium. And on this particular Tuesday, it also means some sessions with the basketball team, which has its media day.
Speaking of basketball, a preview of the Hokies for the 2009-10 appeared Tuesday in The Post.
Okay, back to football. My colleague Steve Yanda wrote about Virginia Tech's scout-team center, Jeff Wardach, as part of his "End of the Bench" series about the lives of the unknown players who populate college rosters. It's a really interesting read, so I'd urge you to check it out.
Meanwhile, here's another set of bowl projections, this time from SI.com's Stewart Mandel, who sees the Hokies playing Northwestern in the Champs Sports Bowl. That means Virginia Tech would be the fourth-picked bowl team from the Atlantic Coast Conference, with Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Bowl (ACC No. 2) and Miami in the Gator Bowl (ACC No. 3).
