We are halfway to the weekend. Can't you feel the excitement for Saturday's epic clash against Maryland? No? Okay, here are some links.
The Terrapins could play three quarterbacks against the Hokies. Starter Chris Turner is still listed as questionable with an MCL injury to his left knee. Backup Jamarr Robinson is guaranteed to play (and probably play a lot) but it's unknown whether he will start and play the entire game. And freshman Danny O’Brien might have his redshirt burned by playing in one or more of the final three regular season games, perhaps against Virginia Tech.
Maryland seems to have a lot of confidence in Robinson. The only thing he's missing, however, is experience.
There was an interesting question about Maryland posed to ESPN.com's Heather Dinich during her weekly mailbag. Could the Terrapins, the reader asked, still play in the ACC title game? Yes, they could. But Dinich writes that "if Maryland is the best team in the Atlantic Division, I would do up-downs until Ralph Friedgen told me I could stop."
A year ago when Virginia Tech and Maryland played, there was actually some excitement surrounding the game. Why? It was on Thursday night. Here's a video of SI.com's Tour Guy taking a trip around Lane Stadium to soak in the atmosphere before last season's Hokies-Terrapins meeting. Some of it is good for a laugh or two, if nothing else.
