Saturday links

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Happy Saturday from Happy Valley. Here are a couple of links.

I'm here to cover Virginia Tech basketball, but let's get to the Hokies' bowl game. They played Tennessee in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31 in Atlanta. And on Friday, more information surfaced regarding the Volunteers' use of hostesses in recruiting. SI.com has photographic evidence that the hostesses had contact with prospects. The NCAA is investigating Tennessee regarding the issue.

But the reason I'm here is to cover the Hokies meeting with the Nittany Lions on the hardwood. Although Penn State has a tremendous talent in guard Talor Battle, it has never been a basketball school. But this time of year, Nittany Lions women's volleyball is the most popular thing on the court thanks, in part, to Coach Russ Rose.
