Thursday links

Say hello to your slate of Thursday links. Let's get to it.

Before we get to basketball, let's ask the question: Which ACC football team has the best defense? Heather Dinich of ESPN.com says it's North Carolina. She lays out a compelling argument, citing its memorable, game-changing plays. I sure was impressed by the Tar Heels, particularly their secondary. But that's sure to not sit well with those Virginia Tech fans who live by the motto "In Bud We Trust." And to be sure, I'd say almost every Hokie supporter falls into that category.

Now, onto basketball. It's been slow lately around Blacksburg, but I'm hoping to catch up with Virginia Tech Coach Seth Greenberg at his "Chalk Talk" session on campus. As noted earlier, the Hokies scratched out a win at Iowa on Tuesday in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Their conference counterparts did not fare as well against the Midwestern league.

No. 6 Duke fell at Wisconsin, 73-69, on Wednesday. Coupled with Ohio State's win over Florida State on Wednesday, the Big Ten its first victory the 10-year series between the conferences. In honor of the big win for the Big Ten and Wisconsin Coach Bo Ryan, I'll leave you with this truly priceless video.
