Friday links

Happy Friday. Here's some reading to get you started.

There was some interesting football news Thursday, and it was not related to Alabama's 37-21 win over Texas in the Bowl Championship Series title game. Rather, for Hokie fans, the surprising revelation was that defensive end Jason Worilds decided to forgo his senior year in order to enter the NFL draft.

You can read more about it here, here, here and here.

On the hardwood, Virginia Tech is preparing to open the ACC schedule with a test against North Carolina on Sunday in Chapel Hill. But for Coach Roy Williams, it has been an especially hectic time. Why? On Jan. 1, he became a grandfather. Kind of a cool nugget of information.
