The temperature has been frigid and snow is threatening to bombard Blacksburg, but I'm guessing it's going to be a happy Friday at Virginia Tech. Read on, reader.
The Hokies upended Virginia, 76-71, on Thursday night in an overtime thriller. The intrepid Zach Berman, who covers the Cavaliers for The Post, had the game story from a wild one.
The only bad news for Virginia Tech fans? Forward Jeff Allen was ejected for throwing an elbow at a Cavaliers player. David Teel of the Newport News Daily Press wrote about the enigmatic Allen before the game, saying he needed to play consistently to help Virginia Tech.
I was not in Charlottesville for the crazy affair, although I surely kept an eye on the game. I was covering the Virginia Tech women as they lost to Maryland, 60-44, to continue a slide in which the Hokies have lost three of their last four games.
