Happy Monday. Here's some reading.
Virginia Tech is coming into week when it will be away from Blacksburg -- at Virginia on Thursday and at Miami on Saturday -- and in search of its first Atlantic Coast Conference road wins. But at least the Hokies are doing so after a win, having defeated Boston College, 63-62, on Saturday in a thriller.
The Hokies were simply lucky to escape with a win, writes David Teel of the Newport News Daily Press. And, he continues, "a benchmark season is far from certain for the offensively challenged Hokies, but this much is clear: With road tests at Virginia and Miami beckoning, losing at home to one of the ACC's poorest teams would have staggered Tech like a Tyson-in-his-prime uppercut."
As for Virginia Tech's next game, a trip up Interstate 81 to Charlottesville usually provides Hokie fans with plenty to discuss. The Post's Zach Berman, who covers Virginia superbly on Cavaliers Journal, wraps up the team's 69-57 loss at Wake Forest on Saturday.
