Sunday links

We're hours away from Virginia Tech opens its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule against No. 9 North Carolina. I'm headed down to Chapel Hill shortly, but in the meantime, here's some reading.

With the Hokies (12-1) off to their best start in Coach Seth Greenberg's seven-year tenure in Blacksburg, they are facing one of their most taxing regular season weeks in recent memory and one that could help establish the tone for their year. Virginia Tech opens ACC play with a trip to No. 9 North Carolina (11-4) on Sunday, a visit from Miami on Wednesday and a trip to No. 18 Florida State on Saturday.

Virginia Tech has turned around its season after looking shaky in its first few games through a tournament in Philadelphia around Thanksgiving. In fact, Greenberg's daughter Paige, 21, a senior at Virginia Tech, wondered aloud if the Hokies would win again this season.

But on Sunday, the Hokies will be venturing into ACC territory (aka North Carolina). The state home to four league teams, the league headquarters in Greensboro, N.C., and the league tournament frequently being held at Greensboro Coliseum.

Here's a video previewing Virginia Tech in ACC landscape. Buckle up, Hokie fans. There's a long, wild, painful, fun journey ahead.
