Between Gilbert Arenas and Mike Shanahan, it's been a busy week for Washington sports. In Blacksburg, not so much.

Virginia Tech is preparing to play at North Carolina on Sunday, and the Tar Heels are still feeling blue -- wonder if it's Carolina blue -- after their upset loss to College of Charleston on Monday night. The Charlotte Observer has a look back at North Carolina's memorable upset losses.

The Tar Heels are getting frustrated with some of the stumbles out of the gate. "We've got to get better," North Carolina Coach Roy Williams said. "It is frustrating right now. The kids are frustrated." The Hokies hope to add to that frustration on Sunday night.

Finally, I had a cool survey sent to me on Wednesday night, so I thought I'd share. Click here to look back on highlights of the football season and vote for Virginia Tech's top 10 plays of 2009. My vote for No. 1 play would be quarterback Tyrod Taylor's 81-yard connection with Danny Coale in the Hokies' win over Nebraska on Sept. 19; so much of the season changed with that one throw, and boy, was it a memorable spectacle. What, you don't remember it? Of course you do. But here's the video anyway.
