Thursday links
Happy Thursday. Here's some reading.
Virginia Tech knocked off No. 23 Miami, 81-66, on Wednesday night. The Hokies dominated from the start. In fact, it only seemed that the game was essentially finished before halftime, a win "as certain as the sheen on Hokies Coach Seth Greenberg's bald head," according to Darryl Slater of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
The Hurricanes got blasted from the outset, but Coach Frank Haith said his team did not quit. "We fought. We competed. But we only did it for 20 minutes,'' Haith said. ``You can't win basketball games in this league unless you do it for 40 minutes.''
Looking forward, here are some notes on the Seminoles' loss to North Carolina State on Tuesday night. The major bullet points include: What happened to Florida State’s perimeter defense in N.C. State game? Forward Chris Singleton took a step forward toward emerging as his team’s go-to player. And now Florida State needs to take care of business at home on Saturday against Virginia Tech.
