It's the start of the spring semester classes here in Blacksburg. So, in that case, here's some reading to jump start the semester. (If you could only dream of being back in college, just pretend.)
Virginia Tech split its back-to-back basketball home games Monday night. In the early edition, the Hokies' women lost to Virginia, 70-56, marking the Cavaliers' seventh-straight win in the series. But the Hokies' men cruised in the night cap against North Carolina Central, 72-30, to get back on the right footing after a loss Saturday at Florida State.
Virginia Tech's men have off until Saturday afternoon, when the team hosts Boston College. The Eagles lost to Maryland, 73-57, last Saturday in Chestnut Hill, Mass., in their last time on the court. The Terrapins dictated the proceedings from start to finish.
Bob Ryan of the Boston Globe offers his view on Boston College. His conclusion is direct and simple: "Something is going on off the court with this Boston College basketball team. There has to be."
