Wednesday links

It's a slow Wednesday in Blacksburg. Here are some links to help get you started.

Bill Roth, the radio voice of the Hokies, penned a good column that asserts that Virginia Tech' season will be written over the next important six weeks. It's sprinkled with some tremendous quotes from the Hokies' loquacious coach, Seth Greenberg, who wants his team to consistently play like a pack of junkyard dogs. Check out this quote? "Junkyards have fences. Junkyards have locks. But it's that junkyard dog that really keeps people out. And that dog is there 24/7."

The Hokies get a chance to start the rest of their season right, and to show their toughness, on Saturday against Boston College. The Eagles rallied from a 17-point deficit on Tuesday to topple Miami, 79-75, for the Hurricanes' third loss in as many games.

That represents an important road win Boston College (11-8, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) needed. The Eagles were led by forward Joe Trapani, who scored 31 points, hitting 5 of 10 shots from behind the three-point line.
