For now, Virginia Tech games unaffected by snow

Virginia Tech's basketball games against North Carolina on Thursday and Clemson on Saturday have not been affected by the threat of a snow storm. At least, not yet anyway.

The games will be played as long as both teams and the officials are in Blacksburg, according to a Virginia Tech spokesman. The Tar Heels are already in town. Clemson is scheduled to fly in on Friday, and it moved its flight to about noon from its originally scheduled departure of 4 p.m.

On hokiesports.com, the university's sports Web site, Virginia Tech has a page updating any changes to this weekend's games.

As it pertains to the basketball games, Virginia Tech's administration has been in touch with the ACC office and the head of officials to stay updated on everything. The university spokesman said there are a lot of variables in play, including how much snow falls, when it arrive and in what form it arrives.
