Monday links
Got a case of the Mondays? If you're a Virginia Tech fan, it would probably apply. Here's some reading to recap the weekend.
Virginia Tech lost at Miami, 82-75, after the Hurricanes ran off to a quick start when the Hokies' defense was slacking. "Despite it being a focal point before the game," Coach Seth Greenberg said, "we had no sense of urgency defensively."
The Hokies helped correct Miami's slumping play. In fact, before Sunday, the month of January had not been very kind to the Hurricanes, who had lost four in a row entering their meeting with Virginia Tech. It was a great opportunity for Virginia Tech to pick up a win on the road.
What makes this even worse for Hokies fans? Virginia, who lost to Virginia Tech in overtime last Thursday night, went to Chapel Hill and beat North Carolina, 75-60, later on Sunday. The Hokies, who lost in Chapel Hill on Jan. 10, host the Tar Heels on Thursday night.
