Virginia Tech fans should root for these teams

Virginia Tech will become one of the most interesting teams to follow in final two weeks of the regular season and during the conference tournament time. The Hokies are once again making a push for the NCAA tournament.

While the Hokies need to be mainly focused with winning -- a good start would be against Maryland on Saturday -- The Post's Eric Prisbell takes a smart look at the teams that Virginia Tech's fans should be rooting for in order to help boost their team's NCAA tournament chances. As Prisbell writes, you don’t want one of the 34 at-large spots taken away by upsets in the conference tournaments that enable a dark horse to claim an automatic berth and a strong mid-major to earn an at-large berth.

I'll add a team that Prisbell did not mention in his post: Seton Hall. If the Pirates can crack the top 50 of the Rating Percentage Index, it will give Virginia Tech another quality win. As of Monday afternoon, Seton Hall was 52nd in the RPI. Virginia Tech is 2-3 against teams in the RPI top 50.
