Virginia Tech loses to Boston College
Thursday on a college campus usually means happy thoughts and the start of the weekend. I'm sure that will hold true in Blacksburg on this Thursday, but certainly not everyone in the Virginia Tech can feel happy about things this week.
Virginia Tech lost to Boston College, 80-60, in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The lopsided loss will hurt the Hokies.
The post-mortem on the game: "It was the biggest margin of defeat for Tech this season, eclipsing the 78-64 loss at North Carolina, and even if it wasn’t, it still would be the Hokies’ worst loss of the season," writes Darryl Slater of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Virginia Tech hosts Maryland on Saturday. As my colleague Steve Yanda writes, the Terrapins rallied from a 9-point deficit in the second half to pull an 88-79 win over Clemson at Comcast Center. No doubt, the Hokies will have their hands full when Maryland comes Blacksburg.
