Virginia Tech prepares to host Virginia

A very happy Friday to you. Here's some reading to tip-off the weekend.

Virginia Tech is inching ever closer to an NCAA tournament bid, writes Dave Fairbank of the Newport News Daily Press. And the task for college basketball teams with NCAA tournament aspirations is pretty clear: Win.

Meanwhile, The Post's Eric Prisbell is confounded by the Hokies, who seem to be one of the hardest teams to project when projecting an NCAA tournament field. One of the best things Virginia Tech has in its favor right now, Prisbell writes, is that the bubble includes a good number of weak teams.

Virginia Tech is preparing to face Virginia on Saturday in what could be another edge-of-your-seat conference contest. The Post's Zach Berman has an insightful breakdown of the Cavaliers' centers, forwards and guards at the midway point of the team's league schedule.
