ACC tournament gets underway
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greetings from Greensboro, where the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament gets underway in a matter of hours. Here's some morning reading.
Dave Fairbank of the Newport News Daily Press examines the five questions leading in the the league's tournament. Perhaps the most intriguing storyline centers on Georgia Tech, which might need a win to get bumped into the NCAA tournament.
Virginia Tech, however, is pretty much assured its place in the NCAA tournament. The Hokies have a first-round bye in the ACC tournament, so they're content to rest and get healed before taking the court again.
The Hokies, the No. 4 seed, play either fifth-seeded Wake Forest or 12th-seeded Miami. Those two teams meet on Thursday afternoon at Greensboro Coliseum, and here's a succinct preview to give you an idea for how the teams match up.
