Polls: Your take on Virginia Tech in the NIT?

In the latter half of the season, Virginia Tech appeared in position for its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2007. But after the Hokies were left out of the bracket, they were relegated to another trip to the National Invitation Tournament.

Virginia Tech (23-8) hosts Quinnipiac (23-9) here on Wednesday in the opening round of the NIT. The Hokies received a No. 1 seed to the second-tier tournament.

While Virginia Tech could become one of only two teams this season to win a national championship if it gets to Madison Square Garden and cuts down the nets, many fans will surely not be as satisfied as if the Hokies made it to even the second round of the NCAA tournament.
