Virginia Tech beats Quinnipiac in NIT

Good Thursday morning to you. Read on, reader.

Virginia Tech defeated Quinnipiac, 81-61, in the opening around of the National Invitation Tournament on Wednesday night. The Hokies are hoping to win the NIT title at Madison Square Garden and to prove wrong the selection committee after they were left out of the NCAA bracket.

Now Virginia Tech will set its sights on Connecticut, which plays in Blacksburg on Monday night. Alex Oriakhi helped the Huskies find their footing Tuesday night in a win over Northeastern.

And the Hokies might not be headed to the NCAA tournament, but I will be. I take off for Milwaukee for the first- and second-round games and will be in Salt Lake City to West region. So I'd suggest you check out The 65 and also submit a bracket in The 65's Bracket Challenge to see how yours stacks up to mine.
