Virginia Tech needs rebound after loss to Terps
Happy Monday, and it's now officially March. Let the madness begin. Here's some reading.
After Virginia Tech's double-overtime loss to Maryland on Saturday, the Hokies have put pressure on themselves in the final week of the regular season. They will need to win both of their remaining games, and might even need to get a win or two in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, in order to get an at-large berth into the NCAA tournament.
The Hokies had a few goals this season in this particular order: get to 20 wins, win the ACC and make the NCAA tournament. The Hokies were already able to check the first goal off their list, but they won't win the ACC regular season title. Patrick Stevens of D1scourse takes a look at the possible conference tournament seedings.
Meanwhile, let's take a detour to football. Heather Dinich of ESPN.com rattles off her favorite game-day traditions at Lane Stadium. My two cents: Metallica's "Enter Sandman" is among the best stadium entrances I've seen in person, so it gets my nod as my favorite game-day tradition in Blacksburg.
