Virginia Tech plays N.C. State
It's the final game day of the basketball regular season in Blacksburg, so let's get right to the reading.
Virginia Tech hosts North Carolina State in its home finale. The Wolfpack are led by forward Tracy Smith, who will be the focus of plenty of attention by the Hokies. And he says he'll be a pain in Coach Seth Greenberg's rear end for his senior season, because as he says in that article, he plans on returning to school.
This is Virginia Tech's second meeting with N.C. State, one of the weakest teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference. David Teel of the Newport News Daily Press takes a great look at the Hokies' conference schedule, which is a "beyond-improbable ACC schedule that is the absolute weakest possible."
It's a faux pas in sports to look past an opponent, but, hey, I'm not playing in these games. The Hokies play at Georgia Tech on Saturday in a critically important game; with a win Wednesday and in Atlanta, they will practically be lock for the NCAA tournament.
