Virginia Tech takes on URI in NIT

It's a big Wednesday in Blacksburg, where Virginia Tech will try to earn a trip to Madison Square Garden as a semifinalist in the National Invitation Tournament. Here's some morning reading.

But first, here's some reading from New York regarding Hokies Coach Seth Greenberg. The Post and the Daily News are reporting that he is a strong candidate for the recently opened coaching job at St. John's. Greenberg has repeatedly skirted questions about the job in recent weeks, when rumors started swirling about this possibility.

The Hokies take on the University of Rhode Island at Cassell Coliseum. Here's a brief summary previewing the match up between the two teams.

Virginia Tech was initially bitter about being left out of the NCAA tournament, but now are aiming to get to MSG to win a national title, albeit not the one it wanted at the start of the season.
