Virginia Tech's season over after loss to URI
It's sure to be a low-key Thursday in Blacksburg. Here's the morning's reading.
Virginia Tech lost to Rhode Island on Wednesday in the National Invitation Tournament, ending its season on a disappointing note.
"From November to today, I was probably prouder of this team than any team I've coached," Hokies Coach Seth Greenberg said. "The last 14 minutes, I don't know who they were."
For URI, the game was "special in itself in that the Rams won by rallying from 12 points down in the second half." Virginia Tech hit "24 of its first 34 field-goal attempts, but then only 2 of its last 20.
