Another series win for Virginia Tech baseball
Let's start your Monday with some reading. Here we go.
Before we get to the current big news about Virginia Tech -- spring football, naturally -- let's take another moment to pay mind to the Hokies' baseball team. Virginia Tech, ranked 25th nationally, won a three-game weekend series with No. 9 Miami for their third-straight series victory in conference play.
Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programing. On the gridiron, the Hokies held a scrimmage on Saturday. You can read about it here and here.
The numbers indicate Virginia Tech's talented running backs Ryan Williams, Darren Evans and David Wilson got off to a nice start (12 carries, 90 yards), Ju-Ju Clayton did more than Logan Thomas to help his case in vying for the backup quarterback role (7 of 9, 95 yards, a touchdown) and linebacker Bruce Taylor's 6 tackles were a promising sign as he continues a fill-in effort for injured starter Barquell Rivers, who could return in August after tearing his left quadriceps in March.
