Linebackers are source of concern for Hokies

Middle of the work week. Here's some reading to help get you over the Wednesday hump.

Virginia Tech is trying to replace an nearly irreplaceable component to its defense, Cody Grimm. Can the Hokies do it? "Cody Grimm, those guys come around every so often," defensive coordinator Bud Foster said.

To compliment this, here's some good reading from Kyle Tucker of the Norfolk Virginian Pilot. He takes a look at Grimm's vacated linebacker spot -- a position known at Virginia Tech as the whip position -- in his latest Q&A session. He caught up with the position coach, Jim Cavanaugh, who provides his breakdown of the spot.

And for a cool read, check out Norm Wood's piece in the Newport News Daily Press. The longtime Hokies beat man takes a behind-the-scenes look at Virginia Tech's 6 a.m. winter workouts. Let me sum it up this way: not a whole lot of fun.
