Michael Vick to attend Virginia Tech spring game

Happy Wednesday. Here's the morning reading.

One of the biggest storylines of Virginia Tech's spring football practices have been the battle for the backup quarterback spot. Is Ju-Ju Clayton or Logan Thomas the heir apparent to Tyrod Taylor? Clayton has better statistics this spring, but numbers don't necessarily tell the story.

But even that subplot has been somewhat overshadowed the past few days by another big quarterback story: Michael Vick is visiting Blacksburg for Saturday's spring scrimmage. It's being called his first "official visit" since he served 18 months in federal prison plus two months of home confinement following a guilty plea in an illegal dog-fighting ring.

And finally, why the delay in announcing the financial terms of Seth Greenberg's contract extension? Greenberg got a new deal in late March. The reason for the hold up: “We haven’t gotten it quite finished yet over in legal,” Virginia Tech Athletic Director Jim Weaver said.
