Poll: Which Hokie will be picked first in NFL draft?
The opening round of the NFL draft came and passed, and as expected, no Virginia Tech player was selected. But Friday night could get interesting.
There are three former Hokies who seem to stand out in this year's draft class: Kam Chancellor, Ed Wang and Jason Worilds. Which of them will be drafted first? [See poll, below.]
Chancellor has NFL size, speed and athleticism, but his career in Blacksburg was inconsistent because he was forced to play out of position, as a free safety instead of at strong safety. Wang is strong, physical and has good footwork, but there is an overflow of talent at offensive tackle in this year's draft. And Worilds, who decided to forgo his senior season at Virginia Tech, will likely switch to an outside linebacker from defensive end but he showed well at the NFL combine and at Virginia Tech's pro day.
