Virginia Tech finishes spring football on Saturday
Happy Friday, everybody. Here's some reading to kick off your weekend.
Virginia Tech finishes its spring football practices on Saturday with its spring football game. Kyle Tucker of the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot catches up with Jim Cavanaugh, the Hokies' outside linebackers coach, who talks about replacing Cody Grimm.
Speaking of Grimm, he could be one of a handful of Hokies selected in this weekend's NFL draft. Heather Dinich of ESPN.com takes a look at the Atlantic Coast Conference and the NFL draft. Since 2006, the ACC is the only conference to have had a player taken in the top 10 of the NFL draft every year, although Virginia Tech does not have one of those top players in this year's class.
And to follow up on a story reported earlier in this space, James Johnson, a Hokies' assistant basketball coach, will not be leaving to coach at Gardner-Webb. Darryl Slater of the Richmond Times-Dispatch has more on this.
