Longstreet in Tennessee
The Longstreet Society's Oct. 10-12 seminar in Knoxville is titled "In a Strange Country: Longstreet in Tennessee," and offers a weekend of speakers and tours. Included in the annual seminar are visits to Lt. Gen. James Longstreet's headquarters at Confederate Hall, the Confederate and National Cemeteries, the Mabry-Hazen House, and Campbell Station battlefield.
The society is restoring the Piedmont Hotel, opened by Longstreet in 1876 in Gainsville, GA, and his grave, also in Gainsville.
The seminar is open to the public and advance registration is required.
