When the war ended, Charles Kuhn Prioleau's business records disappeared, as did the man. Descendants didn't know where he was buried. Linda has once again brought us a vital bit of "lost" history. The Brits did their best to destroy the Union and help the South. A brilliant mystery novel based on this involvement is Owen Parry's HONOR'S KINGDOM, which opens with a scene of a man eaten by eels. Splendid writing and excellent historical basis. So, Linda, thanks again. For the story of the huge British trade in blockade running, see my article in the May 2007 issue of Civil War Times.
