UCLA Screens "Within Our Gates"
The 1920 movie, "Within Our Gates," by director Oscar Micheaux, is considered a response to the earlier, highly controversial "Birth of a Nation" by D. W. Griffith that glorified the Ku Klux Klan. The little-known Micheaux film is part of a screening planned for Saturday at UCLA's Billy Wilder theater.
