McDonnell to sign legislation at Chancellorsville
Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) is scheduled to sign legislation to permanently establish a state level matching grants program at a noon ceremony today on the Chancellorsville battlefield. The occasion is the first public look at the newly acquired Wagner Farm, a key piece of the battlefield recently purchased by the Civil War Preservation Trust using a $500,000 competitive grant from the state.
The public tour, announced very recently by the Trust, begins at 12:45 p.m. Anyone interested in the tour is required to park at the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitors Center and take shuttle buses to the site beginning at 11:15 a.m.
