By Linda Wheeler

Updated: 11/9/10
Tuesday is Civil War day at Washington Post.com with two terrific historians of the war chatting live for 30 minutes each.

At 11 a.m., Ed Ayers, an historian of the American South, author of 10 books and the president of the University of Richmond, will settle into our guest chair to answer questions. At 11:30 a.m., documentary film maker Ken Burns, who gave us the gift of the 1990 landmark PBS series"The Civil War," will take the seat for a video chat.

To participate, readers may submit questions to Ayers by clicking here. To ask Burns a question, click here.
