During spring break, the class of 2008 went on their senior class trip to California, and it was a great success. The group stayed at the Marriot Hotel in Anaheim, California, for seven days and six nights. When the group first arrived in California they had time to get settled into their rooms, and then they went to ESPN Zone to eat and play games.

The next day the group set off to go touring Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. Students pointed in awe as they passed luxurious vehicles that people only see on television. Some claimed to have seen stars, such as Jennifer Hudson and Brittney Spears. After the tour, the students were able to go shopping and also take the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They peered into high fashion stores such as Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana.

On Wednesday the group headed to an amusement park called Knott's Berry Farm. Once they got off their first roller coaster, they quickly realized that this was no Six Flags back in Maryland.

"To me that was the best part of the trip," said Che Washington, 12th Grade President. "The roller coasters were surprisingly scary."

The next day's main event was a dinner cruise, where students ate and danced while touring the coast.

"The cruise was really fun, because everyone was there together having a good time," said Erica Brewer.

"The dinner boat was the best part of the trip for me, because Nolan Harris broke out doing Michael Jackson moves," said senior class sponsor Ms. Tucker.

After the group danced the night away, the next day they were off shopping and then to Venice Beach. The students were happy to finally make it to the beach.

"Going to Venice Beach was one of the best parts of the trip," said Lamar Lewis. "It was the only chance we had to play basketball."

On Saturday, which was the last day before the students had to pack and leave, they went to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

"They had these crazy roller coasters that made ours in Maryland look like a Scooby Doo ride," said Michael McCreary.

"The best part for me was the breakfast. I had scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, and toast every day," said Riah Williams.

"The senior class trip was the bomb, but it would have been better if more people would have come. It's a memory that only 45 students can share, instead of 145 students," said Washington.
