Football Team Wins On and Off the Field

When asked if there was one thing he would change about this season, Football Coach Bryce Bevill replied: "Honestly nothing." Coach Bevill keeps in mind all the highlights of the season: this is the second consecutive year they made it into the play-offs, and the second consecutive year they beat Gonzaga. The team scored 233 points this season. Their most positive games were their six victories against Gonzaga, Carroll, Paul VI, Bishop Ireton, O'Connell, and Landon.

Coach Bevill also points to the senior football players in peer ministry, Sean Baker, Christopher Burke and Dominique Cutchember. It's good to have them give back to the school through ministry and sports. The team doesn't only play on the field, but also in the community. This Thanksgiving, our very own football team prepared baskets of Thanksgiving meals for needy families. This is their second year doing this good deed, and it seems like it will become a new tradition. Last year they went to homes to deliver the food, but this year the families came to pick them up. They prepared ten baskets of turkeys, yams, stuffing, greens, and much more (yum!). I bet it was delicious.
