Eight D.C. Public Schools Apply for Inaugural Parade Spot
Today is the deadline for high school marching bands to apply to be in the inaugural parade, and eight D.C. public schools are applying, said Jennifer Calloway, a school system spokeswoman.
Calloway said the following high schools will compete for spots: Ballou, Dunbar, Eastern, Cardozo, Roosevelt, Bell Multicultural and Wilson, along with Deal Middle School.
It'll be stiff competition. Hundreds of schools from across the country already have sent in applications. The Armed Forces Inaugural Committee will send on the applications to the Presidential Inaugural Committee, which will make the final selections.
