Estimated 1,300 Groups Apply for Inaugural Parade
The Armed Forces Inaugural Committee says it is still counting applications to particpate in the inaugural parade, but estimates that there have been over 1,300. For the last inauguration for George Bush in 2005, there were about 400 applications, and about 90 groups were selected to participate. Once the applications are processed the military committee and the Presidential Inaugural Committee will figure out how many groups thay want and make the selections. The filing deadline was 5 p.m. Tuesday.
